Support Staff Appreciation Week
Last week was Support Staff Appreciation Week. Our Grade 7 & 8 Leadership students presented all of our amazing HDC support staff with cards and a small token of appreciation for all the invaluable contributions that they make to our school on a daily basis. School Planning Engagement Survey Results

Cougar Athletics Update
Badminton
Badminton teams have now been selected, and teams are practicing hard. Exhibition tournament for all teams will be held in the HDC Main gym on Monday (Grade 7), Tuesday (Grade 7), Wednesday (Grade 8) and Thursday (Grade 9).
Touch Football
Touch football tryouts are open to grade 8 and 9 boys and girls who are interested and able to play in the tournament on June 6 at New Brighton Athletic Park.
Tryouts will run on the following days- Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday April 28, 29, 30 and May 5, 6, 7. Practices for successful team members will continue on Mondays and Wednesdays until the tournament on Friday June 6th (during the school day)
Track and Field
The Track and Field Season officially begins on May 5. Practice/Tryout times are posted on the announcements and throughout the school. The Track Meet will be held on Wednesday June 11 at Foothills Athletic Park, for those that are accepted on to the team. Athletes will be expected to get their own way to the track, and to be at the track during the whole school day.
HDC Physical Education
As we finish up our Track and Field Unit with 300m, 600m, 4x100m Relay Races, we would like to remind students and parents that Track and Field Tryouts/Practices are coming up soon!
