Next Year Student Transportation / School Bell Times 

As many of you have heard in the news and in communication from CBE, there are some changes around transportation and bell times for many CBE schools for the 2025-26 school year.

I have had a few questions from families as to what is happening at HDC. As we are a 7-9 school that is already designated to Calgary Transit, the plan is to for this to continue.  For the 2025-26 school year. students designated to HDC will continue to use Calgary Transit to get to and from school (except for students in our ACCESS Program) and there is no change to our school start (8:20 AM) or end times (Mon – Thurs 3:07 PM, Friday 12:00 PM).

Overdue Library Books - Please Return  

We have many students who have overdue library books. We would ask families to please look around to see if there are any books that need to be returned to our Learning Commons as we need to begin the year end processes in the next week or so. Thank you! 

Reminder | School Fees

As the end of the school year is fast approaching, we would ask that families please go into their MyCBE account and clear up any fees that are still due. If you have any questions about fees owed, please feel free to contact Ms. King at the school.  

Cougar Carnival

HDC is hosting a Cougar Carnival in the gym on June 12!  Design 7 and 8 students have created many games and kiosks for HDC students to visit and enjoy during their Phys. Ed. class that day. 

All of the money raised from our Cougar Carnival tickets sales will be going towards a local charity chosen by our students.  

Donations

We are asking families to donate new or well looked after items that can be used for prizes, including but not limited to: 

  • Small lego sets or similar building kits 
  • Sports equipment & toys (frisbees, balls, inflatable toys…) 
  • Arts & craft supplies 
  • Books, graphic novels, comics 
  • Small electronics 
  • Water bottles, mugs 
  • Fidget toys and spinners 
  • Costume jewelry 
  •  Plastic sunglasses 
  • Games, puzzles 
  • Fun stationery 
  • Keychains 
  • Glow sticks and bracelets
